We were recently afforded the opportunity to build a laboratory for the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) in Oshawa, Ontario
The Solar Energy Laboratory has been constructed to perform both solar thermal and solar photovoltaic research. The laboratory can accept more than 30 kW of solar irradiance and many engineered-scale experimental setups.
(More info here.. http://cerl.uoit.ca/about/core_research_facility/solar-laboratory.php)
We designed a System 4 Straight Eave Solarium, part laboratory, part vestibule, part glass roof canopy. The vestibule & canopy utilizes Four Seasons Sunroom patented Conservaglass technology while the laboratory has just clear glass with no UV or sun protection, making the laboratory area extremely hot in the summer while the vestibule & canopy stay relatively cool.
We thank UOIT for the opportunity and hope the room we built helps them achieve their research goals
